Me time

Wriggly baby + iphone camera = blurry photos

On Sunday afternoon Luke and Isaac left to cart lambs to the sale yards in Dubbo. Leaving Cohen and myself to an afternoon together. After about a hour of playing and cuddles, Cohen decided to he was sleepy and then napped for 3 hours. Leaving this mumma to her own devices. Instead of catching up on house work, I decided a bit of me time was in order. It was Mother's Day after all.
Ignoring what needed to be done a cup of tea was made, 30 Rock DVD went on, and chocolate was eaten without the pleadings from a toddler. Then out came the sewing machine, set up on the coffee table so I could lay back on the lounge when the mood struck.
I had cut out the Quick Change Trousers for Cohen a few nights back, abandoning my original fabric choice. I blame pregnant lady brain for thinking it was a good idea to put a child who spends a majority of his time on the floor in white pants. Instead I went for an awesome retro transport inspired cotton pique I thifted from my local St Vinnie's a few months ago and some soft flannelet also picked up from an op shop somewhere along my travels. I decided not to include the contrasting back yoke that the original pattern has. These pants are so easy to sew up and because they are reversible the is no need to finish seams. The flannelet adds warmth, which is important when you are sitting on wooden floor boards and hopefully the colour choice will hide most of the dirt.
I packed up my machine, Cohen woke up happy and modelled his pants and the big boys arrived home, with Chinese take away for tea. Very pleased with the end result of my mumma me time.
